The RTI-12305 from Smart E Tech (Part Numbers: 785896-01 (NI), 93341 (Smart E Tech)) Rear Transition Interface has been carefully designed for the improvement of integration of SLSC (Switch Load and Signal Conditioning) cards based on high-density connectors in the context of industrial automation as well as testing environments. It allows for the transmission of digital signals between a Level 1-compliant SLSC card and an HD44 front connector, thus ensuring seamless connection in modular chassis-type systems. RTI-12305 is an important bridge for transmitting either 16 or 32 channels through its HD44 interface, especially designed for high-density high-integrity transfer of the signals even in harsh environmental situations.
With National Instruments' SLSC platform compatibility, the RTI-12305 operates at up to 60VDC on JR1 and XP3 connectors with an 8A per contact rating at an ambient temperature of 30°C; the JR2-JR5 and XP2 connectors are rated at 1.4A per contact at the same ambient temperature for support of various signal conditioning applications. An extremely compact footprint (101.9mm x 30.2mm) allows easy panel mounting in SLSC rear panels, taking advantage of standard mounting hardware as well as strain relief capabilities for efficient cable management.
The RTI-12305 is designed for multi-stage conditioning or interconnecting of SLSC cards in applications for maximum test system flexibility. The pinout structure of this module is compatible with NI signal-routing standards so that it can be utilized for compatibility with PXI, cRIO, or other measurement devices in the industrial environment. Environmental requirements are 0°C to 80°C operating temperature as well as 10–90% relative humidity (non-condensing), which is appropriate for laboratory and controlled industrial environments.
Through EMC cable compliance, the module suppresses electromagnetic disturbance, essential in maintaining accuracy of signals in multi-set setups. Easy installation is at its foundation, with plug-and-play setups minimizing the amount of time for integration. Engineers utilizing the RTI-12305 appreciate how it is capable of streamlining signal chains in systems involving different manufacturers, minimizing development without affecting scalability.
