781909-01, Software Radio Kit, 400 MHz TO 4.4 GHz, USRP-2922 Software Defined Radio Device
National Instruments 781909-01 Software Defined Radio Device
The National Instruments 781909-01, also referred to as model USRP-2922, is a software-defined radio (SDR) device made for a wide range of wireless communication applications such as WiFi, WiMax, and ISM Band communication. For systems that require only basic transmit and receive capabilities, this module's single input and output channels are perfect. This product's frequency range extends from 400 MHz to 4.4 GHz, providing ample coverage for a variety of signal processing applications. LabVIEW software uses the NI-USRP instrument driver to control the 781909-01.
The 781909-01 module has a transmitter side power output of 17 dBm to 20 dBm and an output power range of 50 mW to 100 mW. With a frequency precision of 2.5 ppm and a step size of less than 1 kHz, it presents accurate frequency tuning. Adjustable in 0.5 dB steps, the gain range covers 0 dB to 31 dB. The 16-bit ADC of the 781909-01 allows for an additional 80 dB spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR). For 16-bit samples, the model's highest real-time bandwidth is 20 MHz; for 8-bit samples, it is 40 MHz. The device can transmit data quickly; its maximal I/Q sampling rate is 25 MS/s for 16-bit samples and 50 MS/s for 8-bit samples.
The receiver side of the 781909-01 also shares the same frequency range of 400 MHz to 4.4 GHz with a gain range adjustable between 0 dB and 31.5 dB, in 0.5 dB steps. The maximum input power is 0 dBm, and the noise figure remains between 5 dB and 7 dB. In addition, the instrument’s ADC includes 14-bit resolution with a 100 MS/s sampling rate and an SFDR of 88 dB. Similar to the transmitter, the receiver supports a maximum real time bandwidth of 20 MHz for 16-bit samples and 40 MHz for 8-bit samples.
The 781909-01 typically uses 12 to 15 W of power when powered by an external 6 V, 3 A DC power supply. This device weighs 1.193 kg and has dimensions of 15.875 cm by 4.826 cm by 21.209 cm. Because of its operating temperature of 23 °C ± 5 °C and a humidity tolerance of 10% to 90%, it is only designed for indoor use.
