National Instruments VXI-8360LT Remote Control Module for VXI
The NI VXI-8360LT (Part Number: 782002-01) is a Remote Control Module for VXI. This MXI-Express Remote Control Module has a single slot and supports LXI-Wired Trigger. Through this module, the user has the capability to control a VXI mainframe with the help of an MXI-Express x1 enabled host computer.
For its deployment, the VXI-8360LT requires one VXI C-size slot. The front panel of this module contains three SMB type connectors for trigger input, trigger output, and CLK10 I/O signals. This module allows the user to daisy-chain as many as eight CLK10 and/or TLL triggers between multiple chassis by using the two trigger bus ports. The National Instruments VXI-8360LT is offered with a special and fast performing diagnostics utility called Resman. When executed on a properly configured and operational system, the Resman utility should return with no errors to report.
This Remote Control Module comes equipped with an integrated EEPROM, which keeps all the VXI circuitry default register values stored. When the user powers up the computer, these values are loaded. The default values retrieved from the EEPROM are used to program the VXIbus registers and the PCI interface. Thus, the VXI interface becomes ready to operate within 5 seconds after a system reset.
For CLK10, either one of the two different sources can be used with the NI VXI-8360LT module. These CLK10 sources include the internal CLK10 oscillator and the SMB type EXT CLK connector provided on the front panel of the VXI Remote Control Module.
