The NH Research 4600-6 AC Electronic Load offers a versatile, high-performance solution for testing various power and electrical components under various loading conditions. Because it can accommodate both linear and non-linear AC loads, this 6 kW AC electronic load is ideal for imitating real-world operating conditions in laboratory or production environments. With a voltage range of 50 to 350 V and a maximum current of 60 A, the unit is adaptable enough to be employed in a range of test conditions.

With a chassis that measures 45 x 49 x 64 cm and a weight of 154 lbs (70 kg), the 4600-6 is a sturdy device that is appropriate for industrial use. Utilizing an SVGA display, an 80 GB hard drive, a 3 GHz microprocessor with 512 MB of RAM, and a PC soft panel, the system is operated. To improve its operational capabilities, the device comes with optional emPowerTM LE test executive software and runs on Windows XP. With support for NI LabVIEW, IVI, and Active X drivers, connectivity is enabled via RS-232 and an optional USB interface, and integration into current settings is guaranteed.

For testing equipment such as uninterruptible power supply (UPS), AC sources, inverters, switches, circuit breakers, fuses, and connectors, the NH Research 4600-6 offers sophisticated capabilities such 3-phase operation, which allows control of three separate units to mimic a 3-phase load. A complete self-test function confirms the status of all important circuits upon power-up, and the remote voltage sense capability, with a 1 MegaOhm impedance and a maximum drop of 2 VDC between sense and load input, provides accurate measurements. The calibration process is software-driven and uses EEPROM storage for consistent accuracy. Performance monitoring is continuous and includes error messages and LED fault indications for instant feedback. Features that protect the load and the unit under test (UUT) include reverse voltage, overload (OP), overcurrent (OC), overvoltage (OV), overtemperature (OT), and undervoltage lockout.

Seven emulation modes, which comprise constant current, constant resistance, constant voltage, constant power, short circuit, unity power factor, and complicated non-linear waveform modes, are available with the 4600-6's programmable adaptability. Waveforms can be created or altered utilizing a graphical editor to make sure they work with the load's capabilities. With the ability to design macros for up to 100 steps, it is possible to switch between various load conditions quickly.
