National Instruments 778512-01 PXI Analog Output Module
Often known as the PXI-6733, the National Instruments 778512-01 is a high-performance analog output module made to satisfy the demanding needs of waveform output and control applications. With its sampling rate of 1 MS/s, this 16-bit, 8-channel device is perfect for sophisticated simulations like three-phase power simulation and stimulus-response tests, including acoustic distortion testing. The 778512-01 provides precise control over each data point for each channel, enabling the generation of common waveforms such as square, sine, and sawtooth, as well as complex, user-defined waveforms.
With eight voltage output channels and a 16-bit resolution, the 778512-01 delivers precise control over output signals. With a differential nonlinearity (DNL) of ±1.0 LSB before and after calibration, and a relative accuracy (INL) of ±2.2 LSB, it ensures 16-bit monotonicity following calibration. After calibration, the gain error is decreased to ±30 ppm of the output, while the offset error is minimized to ±168 μV. These readings are ±40 mV and ±9,000 ppm, respectively, before to calibration, highlighting how crucial calibration is to attaining peak performance.
Eight digital I/O lines compatible with TTL/CMOS levels are included in the 778512-01, extending its usefulness for a range of digital interface applications in addition to its analog outputs. Together with a 4-bit frequency scaler and two 24-bit, 20 MHz counter/timers, the module also includes a varied timing and counting function that is necessary for intricate automation jobs.
In order to improve synchronization with other instruments and systems, the 778512-01 offers digital triggering and external clocking. Clocks, gates, and start triggers can be used to initiate analog output processes, and source and gate triggers can be used to initiate counter/timer activity. Based on rising or falling edges with a minimum pulse width of 10 ns, the triggers are compatible with TTL levels.
This multipurpose module combines various functions into a single device, replacing a number of separate instruments, including low-speed arbitrary waveform generators, PID controllers, and function generators. Because there are fewer independent instruments needed, this convergence improves dependability, lowers equipment costs, and simplifies system design.
