National Instruments NI-9213 Thermocouple Input Module
The NI-9213 (Part Numbers: 780493-01, 780493-02, 785185-01 and 785185-02) Thermocouple Input Module is created by National Instruments to be used in conjunction with the CompactDAQ and CompactRIO chassis. This module will meet the requirements for applications such as advanced data acquisition and control. The NI-9213 can be transported between platforms without alterations and is also hot-swappable. This Thermocouple Input Module has 16 channels, a maximum accuracy of 2.25 degrees Celsius, a sample rate of 75 S per second, an autozero function, 250 Vrms Ch-Earth isolation continuous, and a spring terminal. The device is fitted with filtering for 50 Hz and 60 Hz noise, and has a weight of 5.6 oz.
The autozero channel on the National Instruments NI-9213 can be deducted from every thermocouple reading to adjust for offset mistakes. The autozero channel does not have to be utilized, although the model’s specifications assume that autozero is used for each sample. The NI-9213 Module also has two timing modes: high-resolution and high-speed. The high-resolution timing mode enhances preciseness and noise, while declining power line frequencies. On the other hand, the high-speed timing mode enhances signal bandwidth and the sample rate.
The NI-9213 Thermocouple Input Module operates using the NI-DAQmx driver software which is compatible with numerous types of software packages such as the LabVIEW Professional Development System for Windows, the NI LabVIEW FPGA Module, and the NI LabVIEW Real-Time Module, LabWindows/CVI, Microsoft Visual C++, Microsoft Visual Basic, Borland C++, and Microsoft .NET. The device can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool. Additionally, the NI 9213 has a recommended calibration interval of at least one year. For the input circuitry process, the channels on the National Instruments NI-9213 Module all pass through a differential filter. The next step consists of multiplexing the channel. Furthermore, the channel is sampled by a 24-bit Delta-Sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The channels have the same ground, COM, which is secluded from additional modules in the system. The device has an operating temperature of -40 °C to 70 °C, with a warm-up time of 15 minutes. Also, it has a voltage measurement range of ±78.125 mV, with an input current of 50 nA.
