National Instruments NI-9402 C Series Digital Module
The NI-9402 (Part Number: 779987-01, 196376E-01L) is a C Series Digital Module, which gives the plug and play effortlessness of USB to sensor and electrical estimations on the benchtop, in the field, and on the generation line. The NI 9402 C Series Module has 4 Bidirectional Digital Channels, 3.3V TTL digital I/O logic levels, 55 ns maximum update rate, BNC front connectors, and is not conformal coated. Each of the 4 channels has I/O protection. This module does not have digital I/O isolation and is an enclosed module which will work with CompactDAQ or CompactRIO hardware platforms.
The current flow direction of the NI 9402 module is Sinking Input, Sinking Output, Sourcing Input, Sourcing Output. If the user chooses to utilize this Digital Module with CompactRIO, they can use the LabVIEW FPGA Module to program the NI-9402 for several functions. These functions include pulse generation, customized, high-speed counters/timers, digital communication protocols, and various others.
The NI 9402 C Series Digital Module consolidates signal conditioning and information security into a small module for every estimation write. The NI-9402 C Series Digital Module has two types of signals for each channel: GND and DIO. GND signals are for ground connection and DIO signals are for digital input/output signal connection. The DIO pins allows the user to link digital output or input devices to the NI 9402 module with a 50 Ω BNC cable. Each DIO channel can be configured in software for output or input. Altering the direction on a channel does not alter the direction on the other channels.
