National Instruments cRIO-9073 CompactRIO Controller
Featured with a 266 MHz Central Processing Unit (CPU), a Xilinx Spartan-3 2M FPGA, 128 MB Nonvolatile Memory, 64 MB DRAM, and 8 slots, the National Instruments NI cRIO 9073 (Part Number: 780471-01) is a Legacy, CompactRIO Controller. This fan-less, rugged Controller is preferred for advanced and complicated control applications across various industries. The combination of a microprocessor and an FPGA allows this Controller to offer seamless connectivity through numerous ports.
In its standard configuration, the NI cRIO 9073 is offered with one Ethernet Port and one Serial Port. The Ethernet Port incorporated in the National Instruments NI cRIO 9073 supports 10Base-T and 100Base-TX Ethernet and is compatible with IEEE 802.3. Thus, this Controller offers 10 to 100 Mbps communication rates with auto-negotiation functionality. The maximum cabling distance allowable with this Controller is 100 meters/segment. The RS-232 Port in the cRIO NI 9073 offers 115,200 bps maximum baud rate and flow control in DTR/DSR, DTR/DSR, and DTR/DSR modes. This Controller comes equipped with a powerful FPGA, which offers 40,960 flip-flops, 40,960 input LUTs, 40 multipliers, 720 Kbits of available block RAM, and 3 DMA channels. The chassis can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool.
This CompactRIO Controller can easily be installed in any orientation on a panel or a 35 mm DIN rail. The panel mount method is recommended for vibration and high shock applications. The user can connect this Controller to any Ethernet network using the RJ-Ethernet port provided on the front panel through a standard CAT-5, twisted pair and shielded Ethernet cable. However, a crossover cable should be used to connect the cRIO 9073 directly to a host machine. The device has a maximum power consumption value of 20 W, with a power supply input range of 19 V to 30 V.
The cRIO 9073 weighs 32.7 oz. It has a recommended operating temperature range of -20 °C to 55 °C, a storage temperature range of -40 °C to 85 °C, an operating humidity range of 10% RH to 90% RH (noncondensing), and a storage humidity range of 5% RH to 95% RH (noncondensing).
