National Instruments sbRIO-9603 CompactRIO Single-Board Controller

The sbRIO-9603 is a Single-Board Controller for CompactRIO. The NI sbRIO-9603 is available under two different part numbers: 787287-01 and 787287-02. 787287-01 is the part number for the development kit and 787287-02 corresponds to the OEM kit. The sbRIO-9603 is an embedded controller. All the components of this board, including the processor, FPGA, and I/O terminals, are embedded on a single PCB board.

The NI sbRIO-9603 incorporates different types of ports for various functions. These ports include Ethernet connectors, a serial port, USB ports, a CAN port, and an RMC connector. A high-density RMC connector is available in the sbRIO-9603, which makes it highly valuable. The RMC connector facilitates the connection of I/O modules and DIO channels in the National Instruments sbRIO-9603 CompactRIO Single-Board Controller. Two C Series I/O modules can be connected with the sbRIO-9603 simultaneously. The maximum number of supported digital I/O channels is 96. The NI sbRIO-9603 can also accommodate differential I/O signals. In case of differential I/O lines, 45 pairs can be connected with the sbRIO-9603.

This CompactRIO Single-Board Controller supports NI-Linux RT operating system. The driver software required for the installation of the sbRIO-9603 is NI CompactRIO Device Drivers. The NI sbRIO-9603 is also compatible with different application software types, such as LabVIEW and development tools in C/C++. The sbRIO-9603 features an Intel processor with a CPU frequency of 1.33 MHz. An onboard CMOS battery is also available in the CompactRIO Single-Board Controller. A Xilinx FPGA is incorporated with the NI sbRIO-9603 and can be reconfigured by the user.   

sbRIO-9603 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the CompactRIO Single-Board Controller will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
