National Instruments PCI-MIO-16XE-50 Multifunction DAQ
Featured with 20 kS/s (guaranteed) sampling rate and successive approximation type of analog-to-digital converter the National Instruments PCI-MIO-16XE-50 (Part Number: 777385-01) is a Multifunction DAQ. This device is a multifunction digital, analog, and timing I/O board that is compatible with PCI bus computers. The NI PCI-MIO-16XE-50 has 16 single-ended or 8 differential analog input channels–with a 16 bit resolution and a maximum sampling rate of 20 kS/s. It has 2 analog output channels with a 12 bit resolution and a maximum update rate of 20 kS/s, and 3 DMA channels. The two voltage channels are equipped with double-buffered, multiplying digital-to-analog converters.
The interface circuitry of this DAQ consists of a digital control logic chip and a PCI interface chip. The PCI interface chip enables the unit to communicate with the host PCI bus. The digital control logic chip facilitates communication between the rest of the board and the PCI interface chip. The NI PCI-MIO-16XE-50 is easy to configure since it comes without switches and jumpers. Because it is a PCI Specifications 2.0 compliant device, the interrupt level and the base memory address remain stored inside the PCI interface chip.
The device is run using the NI-DAQmx driver software which is compatible with software packages/application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIew, LabWindows, or Measurement Studio. It is equipped with a 68-pin male SCSI-II type connector.
This plug-and-play data acquisition device comes equipped with a programmable gain instrumentation amplifier or PGIA. The PGIA amplifies the analog input signal by applying gain. In addition, this feature enables the user to select the input signal’s polarity. The National Instruments PCI-MIO-16XE-50 comes equipped with a dedicated timing core for its two analog output channels. Each analog output channel comes with a 12-bit DAC, an onboard voltage reference, and an amplification stage. Moreover, the analog output channels have a reference source, programmable polarity, FIFO buffer, and re-glitching circuitry. The device weighs 9.8 oz., and measures 6.9 x 4.2 in. in physical dimensions.
PCI-MIO-16XE-50 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
The PCI-MIO-16XE-50 is available to be calibrated. While the recommended calibration period for individual parts varies, most parts should be calibrated either annually or every two years to ensure accuracy. If you need the PCI-MIO-16XE-50 calibrated, Apex Waves provides options. We offer high-quality NIST accredited calibrations through a 3rd party, with an average turnaround time of 1 to 2 weeks. When you order the PCI-MIO-16XE-50 with us, you can request basic (unaccredited) in-house calibration that will calibrate the part to the manufacturer specifications prior to being shipped. Call or email us today for more information about calibrating the PCI-MIO-16XE-50!
