National Instruments 781650-33 PC-Server-Based Controller

The National Instruments 781650-33 is a high performance 1U server-based controller designed for remote control of PXI chassis. The model is also known as the RMC-8354. This unit integrates advanced Intel Core i7 Quad Core processing power and offers a base clock speed of 2.86 GHz with the capability to reach up to 3.46 GHz on a single core under turbo mode. It includes 8 MB of Intel Smart Cache to enhance data handling and processing efficiency.

The 781650-33 system supports up to 16 GB of DDR3 ECC 1333 MHz memory spread across four DIMM slots. This provides sufficient space for high data throughput and intensive computational tasks. Users can opt for memory upgrades depending on the operating system with configurations scaling from 4 GB to 16 GB. The system includes hardware RAID support that allows for increased data redundancy and speed when handling high bandwidth tasks using SATA hard drives with configurations offering a maximum capacity of 2 TB. The PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot on the 781650-33 controller provides ample I/O bandwidth for integrating high speed peripherals or graphics cards. It also features six SATA ports that are compliant with the Serial-ATA 2.0 specification. The system ensures flexible connectivity options for various devices and networks with four USB 2.0 ports, PS/2 ports for mouse and keyboard connections and two RJ45 LAN jacks. 

The integrated Intel 82574L Gigabit Ethernet controller on this server-based controller supports reliable high speed network communication. The onboard Matrox G200eW graphics with 16 MB of DDR2 memory allow for a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024. The 781650-33 unit also includes an RS-232 serial port that supports legacy devices and additional communication interfaces. The NI 781650-33 unit operates within an AC input voltage range of 100 - 240 VAC and features power consumption measurements at 92 W during idle and 203 W under full CPU load. This ensures efficient energy use particularly when used in data-intensive environments. The device is housed in a compact 1U chassis with dimensions of 437 mm width and 503 mm depth. It weighs approximately 10.75 kg. The operating temperature range from 5 to 35 °C ensures stable performance within typical data center environments.
