The National Instruments External Controllers Series delivers powerful and versatile solutions for controlling PXI or PXI Express systems via an MXI interface. Engineered for mission-critical and physically demanding applications, these controllers feature robust rack-mount designs with hot-swappable fans, high-performance multicore processors, and support for up to 4 GB of dual-channel DDR2 RAM.

 

This series includes a range of modules tailored to meet diverse application needs. The myRIO-1950 offers a compact and adaptable solution ideal for hands-on learning and prototyping, with real-time processing and FPGA capabilities for control and monitoring. For industrial and IoT applications, the cRIO-9036 provides a rugged CompactRIO platform with real-time processing, an embedded FPGA, and enhanced connectivity options. The PCIe-8371 serves as a high-performance MXI Express interface, enabling seamless communication between external controllers and PXI systems with low latency and exceptional data transfer rates. Additionally, the sbRIO-9684 combines an integrated processor and FPGA into a single-board RIO solution, delivering flexible I/O customization for specialized embedded control and monitoring tasks.
