National Instruments PXIe-5832 PXI Vector Signal Transceiver

The PXIe-5832 from National Instruments (Part Numbers: 787725-01, 787726-01, 787727-01, 787728-01, 787729-01, 787730-01, 787731-01) is a PXI Vector Signal Transceiver that is designed to provide FPGA-based processing for a variety of applications. This RF communications instrument combines the functionality of a vector signal analyzer and a vector signal transceiver, and it can be operated within both the 5 GHz to 21 GHz and the 22.5 GHz to 44 GHz frequency ranges. Additionally, the PXIe-5832 enables you to perform half-duplex stimulus and response measurements.

With a wide range of multiport configurations to choose from, the PXIe-5832 enables users to access the 22.5 GHz - 44 GHz frequency range through the integration of mmWave switching technology.  With this feature, users can test and measure multiple ports at one time, making it an invaluable time-saver for testing and measuring tasks. The PXIe-5832 is an ideal tool for stimulus/response tests due to its 1 GHz of instantaneous bandwidth.

The PXIe-5832 is able to be used in two versions: IF capabilities only, and both IF and mmWave. Both models offer great performance and ensure timely completion of tasks. The IF only configuration is acheived through a combination of the NI PXIe-5820 and the NI PXIe-3623. With IF and mmWave setups, those modules are used in combination with the PXIe-5653, as well as with either one or two mmRH-5582 mmWave Radio Heads, for optimum performance. The part numbers of the PXIe-5832 with one radio head include 787725-01 (no switch), 787726-01 (one switch), and 787727-01 (two switches). The part numbers that indicate versions of the PXIe-5832 with two radio heads are 787728-01 (no switches), 787729-01 (no switch / two switches), 787730-01 (one switch / one switch), 787731-01 (two switches / two switches).

To ensure the best performance and accuracy, it is recommended to use the PXIe-5832 with either the PXIe-1095 or the PXIe-1092 Chassis. Three instrument driver software options for programming are compatible with the PXIe-5832. These are RFmx, NI-RFSA, and NI-RFSG. With the variety of compatible software available, users have access to reliable and versatile platforms for designing and conducting tests and measurements. The PXIe-5832 is designed to self-calibrate internally, which helps it to remain accurate and reliable over time. It adjusts the instrument based on power detectors in the module, making sure that any changes in environment do not affect its performance.
