National Instruments PCI-5122EX Digitizer
The PCI-5122EX is an advanced Oscilloscope Device. The PCI-5122EX device is developed by National Instruments. The PCI-5122EX is a flexible and software-based instrument. This model supports both frequency and time domain measurements. The PCI-5122EX is an updated revision of the PCI-5122 Oscilloscope with more features. However, the PCI-5122EX is not recommended for newer designs. NI suggests the latest PXIe devices instead.
The PCI-5122EX Oscilloscope Device has two analog input channels. The connector type for these channels is BNC. The PCI-5122EX offers three options for input coupling: AC, DC, and GND. The required type is selected by software. The input impedance of this Digitizer also has two software-selectable options. The impedance options are 50 Ω ± 2.0% or 1 MΩ ± 0.75%. A 29 pF capacitor is used in parallel with 1 MΩ impedance. The PCI-5122EX also has a resolution of 14 bits. The PCI-5122EX can filter the noise of 20 MHz. A 2-pole Bessel filter is used for noise reduction.
The PCI-5122EX Oscilloscope device has two sample clock sources: internal and external. The internal source is an onboard clock (Internal VCXO). The sampling rate is in a range from 1.526 kS/sec to 100 MS/sec. The external source is CLK IN. It has an SMB connector in the front panel. The frequency range of the external clock is 30 – 105 MHz. The PCI-5122EX also has a bidirectional AUX I/O channel, which has a mini-circular DIN type connector on the front panel. The maximum frequency of the AUX I/O is 25 MHz, the input impedance is 150 k Ω, and there is 50 Ω output impedance.
