National Instruments PXI-5102 Digitizer
The PXI-5102 (Part number: 777556-01) is a Digitizer created by National Instruments with two single-ended, simultaneously sampled input channels. Both channels have 15 MHz analog input bandwidth. It has a sampling rate of 20 MS/s. The software selectable attenuation allows the user to reach an input voltage range of ±50 mV to ±5 V. However, the voltage range be extended to ±50 V with attenuating probes. The NI PXI-5102 enables the user to create an affordable, quicker performance automated test system. This Digitizer is also ideal for a high-speed data acquisition system.
The NI PXI-5102 has 663,000 samples of onboard acquisition memory. Data is obtained into the onboard memory prior to being transported to the host PC memory. Acquisition samples can be transported to the host memory in real time. If the user’s system has 48 MB or more of unused storage, the PXI-5102 can obtain up to 16 million samples. Another useful feature of this Digitizer is the interactive SCOPE soft front panel. The SCOPE soft front panel enables the user to swiftly operate the device with helpful troubleshooting during the development procedure.
The NI-SCOPE instrument driver is also included with the PXI-5102 Digitizer. NI-SCOPE is meant for use with NI LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio. There are over 50 built-in measurement and assessment functions available, including: histograms, digital filters, time and frequency domain measurements, windows, and waveform math. These functions allow the user to build automated test solutions quickly. Waveform assessments can be customized even more with DIAdem, TestStand, and other software tools. The device has a recommended warm-up time of 15 minutes, and should be externally calibrated at least once a year. It has a typical power requirement of 5 VDC at 550 mA.
The NI device measures 6.3 x 3.9 in. in physical dimensions. It has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of 0 °C to 55 °C and –20 °C to 70 °C respectively, a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10% to 90%.
PXI-5102 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Digitizer will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
The PXI-5102 is available to be calibrated. While the recommended calibration period for individual parts varies, most parts should be calibrated either annually or every two years to ensure accuracy. If you need the PXI-5102 calibrated, Apex Waves provides options. We offer high-quality NIST accredited calibrations through a 3rd party, with an average turnaround time of 1 to 2 weeks. When you order the PXI-5102 with us, you can request basic (unaccredited) in-house calibration that will calibrate the part to the manufacturer specifications prior to being shipped. Call or email us today for more information about calibrating the PXI-5102!
