National Instruments NI-9411 C Series Digital Module

The NI-9411 C Series Digital Module by National Instruments has two part numbers: 779005-01 and 779005-02. The difference between the part numbers is the 779005-01 does not have conformal coating, but the 779005-02 does. The NI 9411 module is compatible with CompactDAQ counters, has D-SUB connectivity, 6 digital input channels, 500 ns maximum update rate, and sinking inputs. The NI 9411 accessories needed for operation are the NI 9935 DSUB Connector for 15-Pin C Series Modules and the NI 9948 Strain Relief and Operator Protection for 2-Position Modules. The NI 9411 wiring is 0.05 mm to 1.5 mm (30 AWG to 14 AWG) copper conductor wire for the gauge on the module.

The NI 9411 is meant to be operated in industrial settings. Despite this, damaging interference can happen in some installations, such as when the module is linked to a peripheral device or if the module is utilized in commercial or residential settings. The best way to reduce interference with TV and radio reception and deter performance degradation, the user must install and operate the NI 9411 according to the instructions in the product manual.

The NI 9411 module can be connected to several different devices: an external power supply, a differential device, a single-ended TTL device, or an encoder. There is I/O protection for every channel. Connecting an external power supply or another device to the NI-9411 C Series Digital Module is the user’s choice and not mandatory. Connection to other devices is based on the user’s application and their requirements.

The NI-9411 can be programmed using software packages or application development environments (ADEs) such as CompactRIO, CompactDAQ, LabVIEW Professional Development System for Windows, LabVIEW FPGA Module and LabVIEW Real-Time Module.

The NI device weighs 4.8 oz. It has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of -40 °C to 70 °C and -40 °C to 85 °C respectively, non-condensing operating and storage humidity ranges of 10% RH to 90% RH and 5% RH to 95% RH, random and sinusoidal operating vibrations of 5 grms and 5 g respectively–all at a frequency range of 10 to 500 Hz.
