EXFO FOT-600 Optical Loss Test Set
The EXFO FOT-600 Optical Loss Test Set is a durable and portable device specially designed for the measurement of fiber optic connections in the network and the measurement of their efficiency. This portable device has the functions of the light source and the ability to measure the power through multiple selectable wavelengths suitable for various tests required for industrial purposes. Specially designed for field use, the device allows for passive optical network tests by operating through essential wavelengths of 1310 nm, 1490 nm, and 1550 nm and is suitable for modern communication systems.
The FOT-600 has also been designed to improve the efficiency of measurement procedures by automating the wavelength switching and the adjustment of calibration parameters for eliminating manual nulling for offset. Its friendly operator interface includes a pass/fail LED light and allows the operators to set customized limits for the measurement of relative and absolute loss measurements. In addition, the equipment has the ability for internal data storing for up to 1000 data points for ready access for future review and analysis. In addition, the reporting software integrated allows the ability for detailed test reports, easily downloaded from the equipment through the use of a USB connection, thus for good data recording and management practice.
The configuration of the FOT-600 increases efficiency during operation by providing the simultaneous storage of test results for all available wavelengths using one button press. Additionally, the equipment includes a visual fault locator for the rapid and easy localization of faults in fiber optic connections. A backlit display screen and keypad ensure maximum visibility even under very low light levels, while its rechargeable battery allows for extended operation during continuous field work. With over 40 calibrated wavelengths, including those for coarse wavelength division multiplexing, this test equipment allows for complete analysis of the fiber's performance.
