Keysight/Agilent 85050D Economy Mechanical Calibration Kit
The Keysight/Agilent 85050D Economy Mechanical Calibration Kit is designed to support the calibration of the systematic errors of the Keysight 8720 series of network analyzers and the 8510C with the 7 mm interface. It is key to making accurate measurements of RF and microwaves by providing standard measurements of a frequency range of up to 18 GHz with a range of precision standards that include a broad range of broadband loads, a short circuit, and a standard open circuit that are all well-engineered to meet exact performance requirements.
The broadband loads included with the kit have a greater than 38 dB return loss across the entire frequency range, thus assuring minimal reflection with increased accuracy during the calibration procedures. The short circuit with a collet configuration also displays a tolerance of ±0.2° between the range of DC to 2 GHz, ±0.3° between 2 to 8 GHz, and ±0.5° between 8 to 18 GHz. The open circuit with a collet pusher displays a tolerance of ±0.3° in the range of DC to 2 GHz, ±0.4° from 2 to 18 GHz, and ±0.6° from 8 to 18 GHz. These are the requirements necessary to avoid the kind of errors associated with directivity, the source matching error, and the reflection tracking error in the measurement of a network analyzer.
Alongside the standard of precision, the 85050D kit also includes adapters to change the gender of the test port to allow compatibility with various devices. Additionally, a torque wrench is included to ensure proper and equal connections that are necessary to maintain measurement integrity. The kit also includes standard definitions on a disk for the 8510C network analyzer to simplify the calibration of the device. Connector gauges are not included with the kit but can also be purchased to enhance measurement quality. The Keysight/Agilent 85050D is widely used in industries that require highly accurate measurements of RF and microwaves, including telecommunications, aerospace, and defense. Its robust build and comprehensive calibration capabilities make it a must-have device among engineers and technicians working to find repeatable and reliable results within their network analysis efforts.
