LitePoint z8451 Vector Signal Analyzer / I/Q Digitizer
The LitePoint z8451 is a high-performance PXI/PXIe-based modular signal analyzer designed for use in precise baseband vector signal measurement and analysis. As an I/Q digitizer, the LitePoint z8451 captures and processes differential baseband signals across a frequency range from DC to 300 MHz using a dual-channel configuration that samples simultaneously. Each channel has an SMA connector for each I & Q input, an external trigger input and a multifunctional output. The dual 14-bit analog-to-digital converter system utilizes a sampling rate of 400 MS/s, enabling the high quality and large dynamic range necessary for testing demanding wireless products.
Engineers use this signal analyzer during research, development and validation of RF components and wireless communication systems to perform key measurements such as Error Vector Magnitude (EVM), Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio (ACLR), and third-order intermodulation distortion (IM3) on a variety of signals. The LitePoint z8451 can be used to test wireless communications equipment according to many different wireless standards, including LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, WiMAX, Bluetooth, GPS and GLONASS. Due to its wide instantaneous bandwidth, extremely low phase noise and excellent spurious-free dynamic range, the z8451 is capable of evaluating the performance characteristics of next generation wireless products.
Compatibility with PXI and PXIe-based automated test systems greatly facilitates the integration of the LitePoint z8451 into an automated test environment due to its robust triggering and synchronization capabilities offered by the TTL and star triggers available over the backplane. The z8451 offers several advanced data processing features, which include eight trace channels, four reference waveform memories and a flexible data format for downloading data. In addition to these features, the VSA also includes multiple triggering options, a programmable external output and non-volatile state storage. Together, these features provide a strong and versatile signal analyzer for both high-speed manufacturing test environments and rigorous laboratory characterization.
