Agilent XGS-600 Vacuum Gauge Controller
The Agilent XGS-600 is an extremely versatile vacuum gauge controller that can be used for high-pressure vacuum measurements as well as for high-vacuum measurements, and it can be used for both research and production environments. The unit operates as a central point for controlling up to 12 vacuum gauges. The XGS-600 operates in a half-rack size, which allows for portability and ease of installation in remote locations. The primary operation of the vacuum gauge controller to read data from up to 12 attached vacuum gauges and then send signals to external equipment to automate processes, monitor and control processes and interact with end-users.
The Agilent XGS-600 will support a wide variety of gauge technologies, including hot filament ion gauges, inverted magnetron cold cathode gauges, convection Pirani gauges and all Agilent active gauges. The vacuum gauge controller has great flexibility for configuration of the system so that users can select a combination of gauges and install them in any order they wish depending on their specific application needs. Users can choose to install up to six separate interface cards in nearly any combination of gauges that they may need to fit the needs of their specific application. The XGS-600 provides 8 setpoint relay outputs that have fast response times and are also fully programmable. With these two capabilities (setpoint relay outputs and programmable contact relays), the controller can be programmed to signal alarms to operators when a certain pressure threshold is reached or turn on/off vacuum pumps or vacuum valves or even shut down entire vacuum systems based upon operator-defined pressure limits.
Users can interact with the Agilent XGS-600 via a single-line monochrome display using a single-line keypad to display values for up to 8 channels at one time. The unit contains both RS-232 and RS-485 serial communications interfaces that are standard on every unit and an optional Profibus DP card for easy integration into existing factory automation systems. As the unit stores its settings in a nonvolatile flash memory, it will always be ready to use immediately after a power outage. The Vacuum Gauge Controller is a must-have for applications that require multiple-channel vacuum monitoring and control capabilities in areas such as semiconductor manufacturing, laboratory instrumentation and/or particle accelerators.
