Advantech PCE-5124G2-00A1E CPU Card
The Advantech PCE-5124G2-00A1E single-board computer has been developed to satisfy the needs of all types of demanding embedded systems. It has been designed as a PICMG 1.3 compliant CPU card and therefore can be inserted directly onto a compatible passive backplane to form the heart of an industrial computing system. In addition to supporting a wide variety of processors within the LGA775 socket from the Celeron, Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad processor families, the PCE-5124G2-00A1E also supports FSB speeds up to 1333 MHz. With regard to memory, the board features four DIMM sockets that support Dual Channel DDR2 800 MHz memory and have a maximum capacity of 8 GB of RAM for handling large computational processes.
The design of this board emphasizes connectivity and expansion, providing a PCIe x16 slot for use with high-performance graphics cards, as well as four additional PCIe x1 lanes to the backplane. Legacy peripheral and modern peripheral connection options are also available through four 32-bit PCI master connections. Networking features include two gigabit ethernet controller interfaces to provide reliable and fast network communications. Additionally, this board provides an exceptional amount of industrial I/O capability; the board includes six serial COM ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, and six SATA2 channels that allow the user to implement a hardware RAID configuration of either RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 10, or RAID 5 for increased data protection and improved system performance. A hardware IPMI interface is also available on-board for advanced remote access and control of the system when running in an unattended mode.
The Advantech PCE-5124G2-00A1E can be used in a number of extreme environments and can operate within temperature ranges of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, using an appropriate CPU cooler. The board also provides a number of connectors to enable the user to connect to legacy devices while still allowing the board to be integrated into newer systems. Due to these reasons, the single board computer is a very good choice as the computing engine for many industrial automation systems, kiosks, digital signage, and other rugged embedded systems that require long-term reliability and flexibility of connectivity.
