Keysight/Agilent M9047A PCIe Desktop Adapter
The Keysight M9047A desktop PCI Express (PCIe) adapter card allows for connection of a PC to either an external PXIe or AXIe instrumentation system via a PCIe link across a cable. As a desktop or rack-mountable PCIe expansion card, it can be installed into any available PCIe x8 or x16 slot on your desktop PC. This creates a direct path to modular test equipment with low-latency access. The M9047A is most typically utilized in automated test setups, measurement stations, validation systems and industrial control applications where a computer needs to interact with a chassis-based instrumentation platform.
This product is a full length PCIe half-card and should be used with x8-to-x8 Gen 2 capable PCIe cables. Additionally, the M9047A includes an x8 Molex style cable connector and has multiple onboard LEDs which are used to display the status of each of the eight lanes of PCIe. These LEDs will allow the user to quickly verify link activity upon initial setup and when operating the system. The transparent software implementation along with the fact that there is no need to install drivers makes it simple to integrate this product into existing test workflows and minimizes the amount of time needed to bring the system online. It can be used to connect systems such as the Keysight M9502A or M9505A AXIe chassis systems or PXIe systems that have a compatible system interface.
In practice, the Keysight/Agilent M9047A Adapter serves as a Bridge Between the Host Computer and Remote Chassis, allowing the Computer to Control Instruments, Transfer Data and Run Test Applications at Bandwidths of Up to 4 GB/S. Due to its compact form factor, low power demand, and cable length capability of up to 2 Metres, it makes it Ideal for Benchtop and Rack-Based Installations. For Industrial Automation Engineers it provides a Simple Means of Expanding Modular Instrumentation using PCIe, Hardware-in-the-Loop Testing and High-Speed Measurement Control.
