Keysight/Agilent E2699A My Infiniium Integration Package Option
The Keysight E2699A My Infiniium Integration Package makes it possible to convert some Windows XP-based Infiniium oscilloscopes into special analysis systems that support users in analyzing their high-speed digital and/or mixed-signal signals during debugging. The E2699A adds user-developed applications directly into the operating process of the oscilloscope. This allows for the removal of time-consuming processes of transferring acquired information from one system to another.
There are two integrated features within the E2699A. Quick Execute is an application mapping a user-developed executable to the Quick Meas+ pushbutton on the front panel. A single press on this button will allow a user to run an automatic routine, such as pass/fail testing, waveform logging, etc., or launch a proprietary software tool. The Extensible Graphical User Interface (eGUI) feature allows a user to add their own customized menu options directly into the main menu system of the oscilloscope. These customized menu options become native commands within the oscilloscope's menu structure.
From an automation point-of-view, the E2699A can be used to automate any Windows XP-compatible executable program. Such programs may have been created and tested prior to running them on the oscilloscope. They will use common programming languages and development tools with which the developer is already familiar. Once they are installed on the oscilloscope, these programs communicate via GPIB or by using the internal LAN loopback address "lan[localhost]: inst0." This enables fast command acquisition and data retrieval through either the hard drive or I/O. The Infiniium IVI-COM driver provides a high-level, standard-based API that supports many programming languages, including but not limited to Microsoft Visual Studio, Agilent VEE Pro, and National Instruments LabVIEW.
This allows users to create code that is independent of the specific instrumentation being used and thus easy to modify when necessary. Industrial automation designers now have a rugged benchtop execution platform for executing custom signal analysis, protocol decode, closed-loop test sequence, etc., eliminating the need for other external controllers. Also, the integration of custom algorithms near where data is generated greatly reduces the cycle time of debugging and supports reproducible, consistent measurement results in both lab environments and production test station environments.
