Keysight/Agilent M9182A PXI Digital Multimeter
The Keysight M9182A is a PXI digital multimeter with 6½ digits designed to meet requirements from automated test systems for accurate DC and AC measurements, rapid data transfer and small module size. Due to the need for fast measurements and high precision, the Keysight M9182A has been built to fit in a single PXIe Hybrid slot. Therefore, in addition to being highly accurate over base conditions (one-year DC voltage accuracy = 40 ppm), the Keysight M9182A also offers very fast data collection rates, up to 4500 readings/sec. In order to be used effectively in these applications, the Keysight M9182A has been equipped with ten different measurement functions, including DC & AC voltage, DC & AC current, two-wire & four-wire resistance, frequency, period, capacitance, and temperature using thermocouples or RTD sensors. The Keysight M9182A offers three methods for triggering: immediate, analog threshold, and PXI trigger bus. These capabilities allow users to synchronize tightly their digitizer, switch, and signal generator resources inside a common chassis.
The Keysight M9182A was built to operate reliably in harsh environments. As such, it will fit into cPCI, PXI-1, and PXIe hybrid slots. This design makes it easy to deploy in existing test racks, which may contain a mix of generation PXI equipment. The soft front panel provided allows users to perform manual operations immediately while providing access to the driver calls needed to develop scripts quickly. The drivers shipped by Keysight are IVI compliant, so they can be easily integrated into test systems developed using LabView, C/C++, C#, Visual Basic, or Matlab.
The reduced amount of time required for integration will provide cost savings to customers involved in industries that include aerospace sub-assembly testing, automotive ECU verification, medical device inspection, and industrial electronics quality control. Since the Keysight M9182A does not have an internal DC source, it can focus solely on precise acquisition of signals, therefore reducing the overall system complexity when using external stimulus signals. In conjunction with the Keysight IO Libraries Suite and NI-VISA compatibility, the Keysight M9182A enables automation engineers to discover remote instruments easily and maintain them efficiently, therefore sustaining high throughput and measurement integrity throughout long production cycles.
