Keysight/Agilent M5302A PXIe Digital I/O Module
The Keysight M5302A PXIe Digital I/O Module, also found under the manufacturer Agilent, is a single-slot PXIe device that can be used in Automated Test Systems (ATS), to validate devices, and to generate signals for digital testing. The module offers a total of twenty-eight programmable LVDS channels and eight single-ended trigger lines. These are available to allow engineers to have a flexible interface to control, stimulate & monitor digital devices. This module is ideal for applications requiring high-speed edge rates, precise timing, and compact PXIe integration within production test benches, lab automation, and hardware verification environments.
The differential LVDS channel interface allows differential communication between an instrument under test and/or protocol emulation between instruments and external electronics. Each differential channel is capable of bidirectional operation and a toggle rate of up to 1.2 gigabits per second. Therefore, the M5302A is well suited to logic testing at high speeds and custom digital interfaces. The Front Panel SMB Trigger Lines provide simple event routing, synchronization between instruments, and general-purpose I/O for time-critical tasks related to automation.
In addition, the M5302A has an auxiliary power supply of +5V available on the rear connector to support circuitry required for external interface circuits, thus simplifying fixtures and test adapters. With PXIe Gen 3 x8 compatibility, onboard memory, and tightly aligned inter-module timing, this module is designed for test systems requiring controlled digital switching rather than analog measurement. In real use, the M5302A is used in making electronics, testing embedded systems, starting up circuit boards, and automating validation where digital input/output, trigger control, and a compact PXIe design need to work well together. As such, the M5302A is particularly valuable when test engineers require deterministic switching, repeatable trigger handling, and a dense connector layout in a small chassis footprint. The M5302A helps reduce external wiring, allows mixed digital workflows, and provides a practical bridge between DUT control, fixture logic, and synchronized PXIe instrumentation across multiple production lines.
