National Instruments sbRIO-9612 CompactRIO Single-Board Controller
Featured with a 400 MHz microprocessor, a 128 MB DRAM, a storage of 256 MB, and 110 digital I/O lines, the sbRIO-9612 is a CompactRIO Single-Board Controller. This Controller comes with all the physical resources printed on one PCB. In addition to an integrated central processing unit, the NI sbRIO-9612 features a reconfigurable FPGA. Thus, this CompactRIO Single-Board Controller is a viable choice for various challenging control and measurement applications.
The integrated real-time controller incorporated in this device has file and web servers accessible through Ethernet– an option that enables and empowers the user to communicate with the device through their everyday HTTP supporting web browsers. The sbRIO-9612 offers integration with external networks and external devices through the built-in Ethernet and serial interfaces. This CompactRIO Single-Board Controller comes with 32 single-ended or 16 differential analog input channels as well. This Controller can accommodate as many as three C Series I/O modules. Users can easily connect the sbRIO 9612 to their existing network by using a standard CAT-5 Ethernet cable. However, the maximum link distance between the Controller and the network termination point should not exceed 100 meters. The device has a power supply voltage range of 19 to 30 VDC.
The field-programmable gate array (FPGA) is completely user-configurable and has a 2M gate. This CompactRIO Single-Board Controller can easily be programmed through the graphical interface of National Instruments LabVIEW. The onboard FPGA on the NI sbRIO-9612 can be programmed through the LabVIEW FPGA Module. Other software packages compatible with the device are: the LabVIEW Real-Tine Module, and the NI-RIO driver software. The digital I/O lines incorporated in this Controller are general-purpose 3.3V lines, which can carry up to 3 mA maximum current.
The NI device weighs 9.4 oz. It has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of –20 °C to 55 °C and -40 °C to 85 °C respectively, non-condensing operating and storage humidity ranges of 10 to 90% RH and 5 to 95% RH respectively
sbRIO-9612 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the CompactRIO Single-Board Controller will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
