National Instruments PXI-6280 PXI Multifunction I/O Module

With the NI PXI-6280 (Part Number: 779120-01PXI Multifunction I/O Module, the user can quantify a pulse of a known width utilizing the signal and determine the frequency of the signal from the outcome. This technique is useful for high frequency signals. In this method, the user can generate the pulse of unknown duration (T) to the Gate of a counter. The user can produce the pulse with a second counter. In addition, the user can create the pulse remotely and associate it to a PFI or RTSI terminal.

One counter must be utilized to generate the pulse externally. When channel A leads channel B in a quadrature cycle, the counter increments. When channel B leads channel A out of a quadrature cycle, the counter decrements. The measure of additions and decrements per cycle relies upon the sort of encoding.

Two-signal edge-separation estimation is like pulse-width-measurement, with the exception that there are two estimations: Signals-Aux and Gate. An active edge on the Aux input begins the counting and an active edge on the Gate input stops the checking. The user should arm the counter to start a two-edge separation estimation. After the counter has been armed and an active edge happens on the Aux input, the counter checks the quantity of rising (or falling) edges on the Source. The counter disregards extra edges on the Aux input. This estimation can be used to check events or measure the time that happens between edges on two signals.

The physical dimensions of the PXI-6280 measure the size of a Standard 3U PXI and it weighs in at 7.7 oz (218 g). The single I/O connector of the Multifunction I/O Module is a 68-pin VHDCI type. While being operated, the device has an environmental operating temperature range of 0 to 55 ºC. When not being used, the storage temperature ranges from -20 ºC to 70 ºC.

The PXI-6280 had a Last Time Buy Date of December 28, 2023 from National Instruments, but it will remain available for either purchase or repairs in perpetuity with Apex Waves!
