The National Instruments 781182-33 (PXIe-8101) is a 2-slot 3U PXI Express embedded controller designed for deterministic data acquisition, automated testing, and instrument control applications. Powered by a 2.0 GHz single-core Intel Celeron 575 processor (667 MHz front-side bus, 1 MB L2 cache) integrated with the Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset, the unit provides a 4-link PXI Express configuration (x1, x1, x1, x1) for dedicated backplane communication. It features 1 GB of standard dual-channel 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (expandable to 4 GB via a single SO-DIMM slot) and includes a 2.5-inch 80 GB 5400 RPM SATA hard drive for onboard operating system and data storage.

Front-panel peripheral I/O includes a Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000Base-TX) port for network integration, two Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports, a standard RS-232 serial port, and an IEEE 1284 parallel port for connecting legacy external hardware. Integrated PXI trigger bus input and output functionality enables precise hardware timing synchronization across adjacent chassis modules, while an SMB connector provides watchdog timer support. The unit draws power efficiently across multiple supply rails, requiring 2.25 A typical at +3.3V (4.75 A max), 1.25 A typical at +5V (2.25 A max), and 1.50 A typical at +12V (2.25 A max).
