National Instruments 780587-47 Dual 8x1 PXI RF Multiplexer Switch Module

The National Instruments 780587-47 is a Dual 8x1 PXI RF Multiplexer Switch Module. This module is also identified as the PXIe-2747. It is designed for efficient RF signal switching in production test applications that supports frequencies up to 2.7 GHz. Its high channel count is ideal for systems needing to switch multiple RF signals, such as linking multiple devices under test to a single RF analyzer channel. Relay status can be tracked with its onboard relay counting feature. The 780587-47 module is capable of handling a maximum switching voltage of 30 V and a maximum switching current of 0.5 A per channel. The initial DC path resistance is less than 1 Ω that increases to 2 Ω at end-of-life. The module delivers stable signal transmission along with its 50 Ω of characteristic impedance. RF performance is optimized with insertion loss figures of 1.5 dB up to 1 GHz and 3 dB up to 2.7 GHz. Isolation is greater than 60 dB up to 1 GHz and more than 40 dB up to 2.7 GHz. The typical channel-to-channel skew is less than 160 ps.

The NI 780587-47 employs electromechanical latching relays along with a maximum relay operate time of 10 ms and an expected mechanical life of 10 million cycles. The module features 18 gold-plated MCX jacks for robust and reliable I/O connections. It requires 3.96 W at 3.3 V and 0.2 W at 12 V from the PXI Express power supply. It comes with fitting single-slot fitting and measures 21.6 cm x 2.0 cm x 13.0 cm. The net weight of this NI module is 327 g. The operating temperature range is 0 °C to 55 °C, and it can be stored between -40 °C and 70 °C. The module supports 5% to 85% relative humidity (non-condensing) and is rated for a maximum altitude of 2,000 m. It meets EMC and safety standards including EN 61326-1, FCC Part 15B, IEC 61010-1 and UL 61010-1.
