National Instruments 779079-03 RF Vector Signal Analyzer
The National Instruments 779079-03 (or PXI-5671) is a versatile RF Vector Signal Analyzer with 256 MB onboard memory. It is composed of the NI PXI-5610 upconverter module and the NI PXI-5441 AWG module. This system provides an extensive frequency range from 250 kHz to 2.7 GHz that caters to various testing and measurement needs across multiple industries. The 779079-03 features quadrature digital upconversion (DUC) that significantly reduces waveform download and signal generation times.
With an instantaneous bandwidth of 20 MHz and a signal bandwidth of up to 6.6 MHz when DUC is enabled, the 779079-03 ensures precise and efficient signal analysis. Its internal frequency reference operates at 10 MHz with a maximum temperature stability of ± 20 ppb and an initial achievable accuracy of ± 50 ppb. The aging specifications are ± 100 ppb per year and ± 1 ppb per day after 72 hours of operation.
The RF output characteristics of the NI 779079-03 module are exceptional. It comes with an output power range of -145 to +10 dBm. It includes overload protection features, such as a maximum reverse RF power tolerance of 4 W and a maximum DC input tolerance of ±50 VDC. The analyzer offers a resolution of 0.02 dB that ensure fine adjustments and precise measurements. The Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) is optimized for different frequency ranges along with a maximum of 1.6:1 for 10 MHz to 2.3 GHz and 1.7:1 for 2.3 to 2.7 GHz.
The NI PXI-5610 upconverter module of the 779079-03 unit measures 21.6 × 4.0 × 13.0 cm and occupies two PXI/cPCI slots. Whereas, the NI PXI-5441 AWG module measures 21.6 × 2.0 × 13.0 cm and occupies one PXI/cPCI slot. Combined, the complete 779079-03 unit weighs 1,510 grams. The power requirements for these modules vary as the NI PXI-5610 consumes 25 W (typically) and the NI PXI-5441 consumes 22 W (typically).
The NI 779079-03 module is designed for indoor use and can be installed at the maximum altitude of 2,000 MSL. The ambient temperature ranges for the NI 779079-03 module are 0 °C to 55 °C (NI PXI-5610 upconverter) and 0 °C to 45 °C (NI PXI-5441 AWG). It can withstand an operating shock of 30 g peak, half-sine, 11 ms pulse, in compliance with IEC 60068-2-27 and MIL PRF-28800F Class 2 limits.
