Pickering 40-533-022 PXI Matrix Module
The Pickering 40-533-022 is an Ultra-High Density PXI Matrix Module for advanced signal routing in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and Data Acquisition Systems. It offers a compact and durable way to connect multiple signal sources to multiple measuring devices, creating the base for flexible configurations of test systems. The base structure of this unit is a single 2-pole 64x4 matrix with 256 cross points using high-reliability ruthenium reed relays. This architecture is specifically well-suited for applications where two related signals need to be switched simultaneously (e.g., differential signals or two-wire measurements) while maintaining signal integrity and isolating each signal path.
The Pickering 40-533-022 is built using high-quality instrument-grade relays manufactured by Pickering Electronics and will provide years of trouble-free operation with an operational life exceeding 1 billion cycles at low power loading. It is capable of switching signals up to 150 VDC or 100 VAC, handles a maximum of 10 watts of power, and has .5 amps of current per channel. The Pickering 40-533-022 also has a very fast switching time, typically less than 1 millisecond, and therefore contributes to a high system throughput in production testing environments. Interfacing to the signals is done through a 200-pin high-density LFH connector on the front panel; compatible mating cables and backshells are required to integrate the Pickering 40-533-022 into a test fixture.
The 40-533-022 is a 3U PXI/PXI Express compatible module, operating from the +5V backplane supply. All aspects of software support are available through IVI, VISA, and Direct I/O Drivers for developing software in popular environments such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI and MATLAB. In addition, the module is compatible with Pickering's eBIRST Diagnostic Tools for validating and performing maintenance on the system.
