Pickering 40-630-022-D/16/2 Multiplexer Module
Pickering’s 40-630-022-D/16/2 is a PXI multiplexer module that can be used for a variety of sophisticated signal routing functions in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and Data Acquisition Systems. The model is a dual 16-channel 2 pole multiplexer module. Each multiplexing bank has 16 input channels that can be routed to a common output through 2 poles. Besides being able to switch single-ended signals, this multiplexer also allows for the simultaneous switching of paired signals or differential measurements. High reliability Ruthenium Reed Relays are used to implement the multiplexing function on this module. These relays have an excellent history for providing stable contacts and a long operational life, which is important for maintaining signal integrity in high reliability applications.
Another significant advantage of the 40-630-022-D/16/2 is the ability to select multiple channels in parallel within each bank. This will allow you to take full advantage of parallel signal paths to increase your test throughput. Additionally, there are built-in automatic isolation switches that will automatically connect only the active bank to the common terminal; this greatly reduces the amount of capacitance load and leakage current introduced when activating a bank. As such, this configuration is particularly advantageous in large, cascading switching systems and will help preserve signal accuracy and overall system performance. This module will handle signals that are up to 150 VDC and 1.2 amps and has a bandwidth greater than 10 MHz; thus, it is suitable for many types of analog and digital applications.
The 40-630-022-D/16/2 is housed in a single-slot 3U PXI format and uses a front panel 68-pin micro-D connector to interface with the rest of the system. This module will work in conjunction with all standard PXI, CompactPCI, and hybrid PXI Express chassis, as well as Pickering's LXI modular chassis. Allowing the user to integrate this module into either a traditional or distributed test system environment. In addition, the included software drivers for VISA, IVI and kernel framework support the user developing in a variety of programming environments to make integration easier. Overall, the dual bank design of the 40-630-022-D/16/2, along with its ability to select multiple channels, makes it an ideal solution for increasing the number of channels available in complex industrial automation and ATS/DAS systems.
