Pickering 40-785B-523-TE Microwave Multiplexer
The Pickering 40-785B-523-TE is a PXI-based, remotely installed, triple six-channel microwave multiplexer module that will support the use of complex high-frequency signal routing in automated test systems. This module is designed to integrate three independent terminated multiplexer banks into a single PXI slot configuration, with each bank consisting of a separate SP6T switch. This module is designed to operate at frequencies up to 18 GHz on 50Ω signals; therefore, this module can be used as the basis for developing large and highly efficient microwave switching networks.
This module is specifically designed to be mounted remotely, so the RF relays may be placed next to the Unit Under Test (UUT), as well as other instruments through the 1.5 meter interface cables that are provided with the module. The reduced length of the cables allows for minimal degradation of the signal and saves space within PXI or LXI chassis configurations. All connections are made via SMA connector interfaces, providing for a long-term reliable solution to meet the requirements of the specified bandwidth.
Automated Test Equipment (ATE) in aerospace, defense, telecommunications, and research & development markets are typical of where the use of microwave multiplexers is required to route multiple microwave signals with high accuracy. The terminated design ensures that there is always a defined impedance match to the unconnected paths of the multiplexer, thus improving the overall system stability. The 40-785B-523-TE offers key performance features for the demands of high-frequency and microwave environments, such as low insertion loss and high isolation between channels, and most importantly, high signal fidelity and accurate measurements are required to ensure correct results.
In addition to offering high levels of performance, the 40-785B-523-TE also offers significant reductions in system complexity by allowing a maximum of 18 unique signal paths to be controlled from a single PXI slot. This allows for increased reliability and reduced total system footprint. Furthermore, the multiplexer is compatible with a number of industry-standard software drivers and signal routing tools, allowing developers to create and manage their test sequences and industrial automation environments in a highly efficient and streamlined manner.
