The LAN-3201B Gigabit Ethernet SmartMetrics module supports full wire-rate traffic generation and analysis, simulating the demands for as many as 8,192 streams for a capacity of 512 million traffic flows. Thus, the setting for testing a network device under normal and adverse conditions ideally is the LAN-3201B Gigabit Ethernet SmartMetrics, since it is designed to conform with specifications laid down by IEEE 802.3z.
The module LAN-3201B Gigabit Ethernet SmartMetrics provides complete performance evaluation measurements for key metrics such as throughput, latency, and packet loss. The LAN-3201B Gigabit Ethernet SmartMetrics test module is designed for both development and regression testing, with advanced features for accuracy, such as VLAN tagging (802.1p, 802.1q, 802.3ac) for realistic simulations. Quality of Service, or QoS, includes the analysis by using IP precedence tracking to emulate network behavior under diverse policies, while responding to 802.3x flow control commands. The LAN-3201B Gigabit Ethernet SmartMetrics offers complete, reliable testing for robust network device performance with data integrity checks that catch bit errors in Layer 3 forwarding.
The LAN-3201B Gigabit Ethernet SmartMetrics module allows for advanced diagnostics with a 1 MB capture buffer, where detailed logging and exporting filtered events for protocol analysis are enabled. This also gives the capability for each stream of the LAN-3201B Gigabit Ethernet SmartMetrics to independently control and independently schedule. With this, granular and accurate tests can be done over many different traffic patterns. The LAN-3201B Gigabit Ethernet SmartMetrics is compatible with Spirent's SmartWindow, SmartLib, SmartApplications, and SmartTCP tools, supporting automated testing to customized testing within both Windows and UNIX environments.
The LAN-3201B Gigabit Ethernet SmartMetrics module is equipped with a hot-swappable GBIC, which supports both single-mode and multi-mode fiber. This gives the capability for GBIC in the Gigabit Ethernet SmartMetrics LAN-3201B to be configured flexibly, easily performing changes in physical interfaces without any interruption of system power. This module takes up just one slot in the Spirent SMB-6000B or SMB-600 chassis, making the LAN-3201B Gigabit Ethernet SmartMetrics instrument of choice for efficient testing and validation of network devices across a broad range of environments.
