Tektronix MDO34 Mixed Domain Oscilloscope
Tektronix' MDO34 represents a sophisticated, multi-domain oscilloscope that has been designed to provide complex signal analysis in the fields of research & development as well as advanced troubleshooting. The MDO34 combines six primary measurement functions into a single platform, including a high-bandwidth oscilloscope, a dedicated RF spectrum analyzer, an arbitrary waveform generator, a logic analyzer, a protocol analyzer (to analyze a variety of protocols), and a digital voltmeter/frequency counter. This combination of all six functions into one unit provides users with the ability to eliminate the need for using several different instruments, thus reducing the user's workflow and improving efficiency while working on a variety of electronics designs, embedded systems debugs, and industrial automation systems validations.
The MDO34 allows users to examine both time and frequency domains simultaneously, has up to four analog input channels, and has bandwidths ranging from 100 MHz to 1 GHz, and sample rates can reach up to 5 GS/s on two channels. The Dedicated RF Input Channel will allow users to perform Standard Analysis up to 1 GHz and Extendable up to 3 GHz, allowing users to fully characterize Wireless Communications and Noise Sources. The instrument also allows users to access up to sixteen digital channels for precise timing analysis of digital buses. Engineers are able to use the Deep Memory of Ten Million Points per Channel along with Advanced Triggering on a Wide Array of Serial Protocols, including I2C, SPI, CAN, LIN, USB, and Ethernet. These capabilities will be vital when attempting to diagnose communication faults within automated machinery and control systems.
This Mixed Domain Oscilloscope was designed to be used in demanding technical environments and includes a large high-definition capacitive touch screen interface that is designed for intuitive operation. The MDO34 has been built with robust construction to meet rugged environmental standards for temperature, humidity, and vibration. The oscilloscope will provide users with correlated views of analog, digital, and RF signals, providing critical insights for solving complex problems in power electronics, mechatronics, and telecommunications, and as such, will become a central tool in ensuring system integrity and performance in modern industrial and technological applications.
