The TDK Lambda GEN8-600 is a programmable DC power supply delivering 0 V to 8 V output and 0 A to 600 A current. The unit provides 4.8 kW rated output power for industrial testing applications. The unit combines precise regulation performance with advanced control capabilities in a compact platform. It features constant voltage operation with exceptional regulation accuracy.
The maximum line regulation is limited to 0.8 mV across the specified input range. Maximum load regulation is restricted to 6.2 mV under varying output conditions. Output quality is maintained through controlled ripple and noise performance specifications. The unit comes with ripple and noise measures of 75 mV peak to peak within a 20 MHz bandwidth. Ripple voltage remains limited to 10 mV RMS from 5 Hz to 1 MHz. The controlled output characteristics support precision testing requirements and sensitive load operation.
The GEN8-600's remote sensing functionality compensates voltage drops across output connection conductors effectively. The system provides remote-sense compensation capability of 2 V per wire. This feature improves voltage accuracy directly at the load connection point. Local sensing and remote sensing configurations support flexible installation requirements.
The temperature-related performance is optimized for stable, long-duration operating conditions. The temperature coefficient is specified at 100 ppm per degree Celsius of rated output voltage. This specification applies following a 30-minute warm-up period.
The unit holds temperature stability, which is specified at 0.05% of rated output voltage. The specification applies across an 8-hour interval following warm-up. Constant line conditions and load conditions support the stated performance values.
The GEN8-600 power supply supports programmable voltage and current control through integrated digital interfaces. Standard communication interfaces include RS-232 and RS-485 connectivity for system integration. Optional LAN interface capability supports network-based monitoring and remote operation. Optional GPIB and analog interfaces provide additional compatibility with automated platforms.
The GEN8-600 includes overvoltage protection and overcurrent protection mechanisms. Auto restart functionality supports recovery following specific operational interruption conditions. The unit is available with a three-phase 208 VAC input configuration. The supported operating range extends from 170 VAC to 265 VAC. An alternative three-phase 480 VAC input option is also available. This configuration operates across an input range from 432 VAC to 528 VAC.
