The TDK Lambda’s ZUP36-6 Programmable DC Power Supply is a compact single output industrial automation unit that delivers a precisely regulated output range from 0 to 36 V at up to 6 A. This supply provides a continuous rated output power of 216 W for control tasks. It is applicable in precise DC sourcing requirement test stands and integrated control cabinets. The ZUP36-6 power supply features constant voltage and current operating modes for flexible load coverage. Its digital front panel displays output currentand voltage with high accuracy during configuration and service. The unit’s status indicators clearly show constant voltage or constant current mode and output on or off state. A digital encoder knob enables fine adjustment of setpoints during commissioning or local maintenance activities.
It offers precise load regulation and line regulation to maintain a stable output under varying conditions. Its specified ripple and noise levels remain very low across the full bandwidth measurement range under typical rated conditions. The unit’s fast recovery time supports dynamic load steps that occur in motion control and actuator applications. This power supply includes programmable overvoltage protection and integrated overtemperature and foldback protection functions. It can set overvoltage thresholds precisely to protect sensitive automation electronics downstream of the unit. Its foldback protection limits energy under overload or short circuit events on distribution buses within industrial automation power systems. The unit’s integrated alarms support system level interlocks and controlled shutdown sequences when operating limits are exceeded.
The ZUP36-6 incorporates built in RS232 and RS485 serial communication interfaces for remote programming. It’s up to 31 supplies can be controlled on a single RS485 bus in distributed racks and its optional IEEE 488 GPIB connectivity allows integration into legacy automated test systems when required. Its remote sense capability compensates for up to half a volt of wiring drop at the load. These functions allow accurate voltage delivery to distributed loads in large machines or process skids. The programmable power supply accepts a universal input from 85 to 265 VAC. Its high efficiency and active power factor correction contribute to reduced heat generation inside automation enclosures. The unit’s forced air cooling with an internal blower maintains rated output power across the specified temperature range. Its mechanical dimensions support rack mounting or bench use.
