Anritsu MA2425A Power Sensor
The Anritsu MA2425A is a thermal sensor with a wide frequency range from 10 MHz to 50 GHz. As other sensors in the MA24xxA/B/D series, this tool exhibits high accuracy in power measurements. Inaccuracy in most sensors emanates from inability to predict mismatch. Sensor return loss is improved by as much as 6 dB in this power sensor. This is equal to 50% reduction of the uncertainty.
Calibrating a conventional power sensor can be both time consuming and expensive. Anritsu has introduced User Calibration Factor Tables to counter this problem. Coupling this with internal temperature compensation makes field procedures smooth. In other words, users can focus on finding solutions, instead of dealing with lengthy test procedures. Note that there is the option of deactivating the User Calibration Factor Tables for standalone use of the Anritsu MA2425A.
The design of the Anritsu MA2425A is based on the interesting Seebeck Effect, which is a combination of the Peltier Effect and the Thomson Effect. The great feature of this model is that the power and voltage change have an excellent linear correlation. The same feature makes this device capable of preventing electrostatic discharge (ESD).
If there is one thing that impresses about the Anritsu MA2425A, then it has to be the True-RMS detection feature. This feature makes the device independent of modulation. Therefore, you can get precise average power measurements regardless of signal type.
