Keithley 7011-S Multiplexer Module
Keithley’s 7011-S Quad 1x10 Multiplexing Module is an extremely versatile and flexible high-density (quad) 1x10 multiplexing card designed to be used within automated test and measurement systems. It features four independent banks of 1x10 two-pole switches. An important feature of this card is it has a screw terminal connector board, which will provide more flexible wiring options for laboratory, industrial, and research environments where many custom wiring options are often required. This will also make it easier to add or remove wiring and will allow the user to easily switch between test setups and use a variety of wiring gauges.
At its core, the module is designed to take one input from multiple sources and connect them to a single measuring device, such as a voltmeter or data acquisition system, to streamline the complexity of test processes. Each of the four independent banks can be configured in a number of ways to include dual 1x10 4-pole or single 1x20 4-pole configurations when connected to a compatible Keithley 7001/7002 mainframe. The ability to create a large number of possible signal switching configurations is crucial for high-density testing systems and will allow users to monitor sequentially multiple sensors, components, or test points. Each bank output on the 7011-S is jumpered out and can be easily removed to connect directly to the mainframe’s analog backplane, providing a simple method of expanding the system and/or creating even larger configurations (i.e., 1x80) or connecting to cross-point matrices.
The 7011-S was built with signal integrity in mind and has very low channel resistance and minimal contact potential, which are both necessary for making accurate low-voltage and low-current measurements. The design of the Multiplexing Module will support switching signals up to 110 VDC @ 1 A and therefore covers a wide range of applications, including component burn-in and process monitoring. The isolation between channels and banks is very high and therefore minimizes crosstalk and ensures that the measurements made are free from contamination by adjacent signals. With its versatile configuration, reliable screw terminal connectors, and high signal fidelity, the Keithley 7011-S is an essential building block for scalable and precise automated test and data acquisition systems.
