Keysight/Agilent DAQ973A Data Acquisition System
The DAQ973A from Keysight/Agilent is an integrated six and one-half digit (22 bit) internal digital multimeter (DMM) with versatile switch and control electronics in a compact three-slot enclosure. The DAQ973A’s internal DMM will provide a resolution capable of resolving low-level transducer signals. The data acquisition system will support nine unique plug-in modules such as multiplexers, matrix cards, and actuators. All supported configurations have the ability to have up to 120 individual channels depending on the configuration. The device has standard USB, LAN, and GPIB interfaces to enable remote programming from anywhere as well as integrate into existing test systems. There is also an automatic calibration feature that will continually compensate for temperature and time drift to ensure measurement accuracy with no user intervention.
This system will measure AC/DC voltage, current, resistance (2-wire & 4-wire), frequency, period, capacitance, and diode parameters, as well as condition thermocouples, RTD's, and thermistors. The DAQ973A can achieve scanning speeds of up to 450 channels per second via the solid-state MUX. Additionally, an optional 24-bit digitizer provides simultaneous 800 ksps sampling on four differential inputs for transient analysis. Scan Lists are automatically generated in Channel Order and Pacing can be initiated from the internal Timer, Manual Button or External TTL Pulse. As such, this makes the Data Acquisition Mainframe an ideal solution for component characterization, environmental monitoring, and electromechanical validation.
Operation is simplified through the graphical front panel and embedded web server included with the DAQ973A as well as through BenchVue software for real-time data visualization. Each channel can have high and low alarm limits applied to them, with four TTL outputs available to drive external indicators without the use of a PC. Monitor Mode is a feature that allows continuous updating of a Selected Channel's Reading even when performing Scans. Remote oversight of the system can also be achieved using the web interface and any browser. The Data Acquisition Mainframe retains up to 100,000 readings in non-volatile memory after power loss. Additionally, programmatic compatibility with legacy 34970A instruments means that migration to the DAQ973A data acquisition mainframe will be smooth and simple for existing test setups.
