Keysight 44470A 10-Channel Multiplexer Module
The Keysight Agilent 44470A multiplexer module is a precision switching unit for routed measurement systems. It supports 10 channels for switching inputs to one common bus.
The 44470A uses 2-wire armature latching relays for channel operation. Each channel can switch up to 250 V and 2 A with rated capacity. It also supports 60 W or 125 VA per channel for AC applications. The thermal offset rating remains below 3 uV per channel during specified operation. The multiplexer module provides low thermal offset performance for sensitive and repeatable measurement work. It suits systems where small voltage differences must remain measurable across selected channels.
The 10-Channel 44470A module can operate in break-before-make mode for safer channel sequencing. It also provides multiple-channels-close mode when several channels must connect together during testing. The Keysight 44470A can support four-wire ohm measurements when two modules operate in card-pair mode. Two modules can be programmed to open and close together during resistance testing. The included screw terminal supports easier connection of measurement leads and external signal paths. The design also provides space to add simple attenuators or compact filter networks.
The multiplexer module delivers a maximum scan rate above 43 channels per second. Its mechanical relay life is rated at 10^6 operations under specified operating conditions. The latching relay design helps maintain channel state without continuous relay coil power. The HI-LO capacitance is rated below 27 pF under the stated closed-channel test condition. The module provides defined AC isolation behavior with one channel closed during operation. The channel-to-chassis capacitance remains below 80 pF for controlled isolation from the instrument frame. The 44470A module also provides low insertion loss for higher-frequency routed test signals.
The multiplexer module maintains strong direct current isolation under conditions below 40°C and 60% relative humidity. The open channel and channel-to-channel isolation exceed 10^11 Ohm under stated environmental conditions. The insertion loss stays below 0.20 dB at 100 kHz for the 44470A module when it is measured with 50 Ohm termination. This helps to maintain stable signal levels during routed measurements.
