Keysight/Agilent E1339A 72-Channel Digital Output/Relay Driver
The Keysight/Agilent E1339A 72 Channel Digital Output/Relay Driver is designed for VXIbus based industrial automation test systems. It is a register based slave device classified as a Size B module that occupies one VXI slot. It supports open collector switching at a maximum voltage of 32 V per relay driver channel. Each of the 72 independent relay drivers provides a sink current capability of 200 mA per switch. The power requirements for the relay driver include + 5 V and + 12 V supply voltages from the VXIbus mainframe backplane. The peak module current [IPM] is 0.10 A at + 5 V and 0.10 A at + 12 V under maximum operating conditions. The dynamic module current [IDM] is rated at 0.10 A at + 5 V and 0.01 A at + 12 V during operation. These figures exclude all power drawn by the internal supplies to external loads.
The driver includes three selectable internal power supply options for driving external loads connected to the system. A fused + 12 V supply at 1 A is built into the card and requires no P2 connector to operate. In a VXIbus mainframe with P2 capability, the fused + 5 V and + 24 V supplies at 1 A are accessible. Enabling any internal power supply draws additional current from the respective VXI backplane power rail. The E1339A connects to the VXIbus backplane through P1 and P2 connectors where the P2 connector is optional. The module supports VXIbus Interrupter D16 capability with selectable interrupt levels from 1 to 7.
The Keysight/Agilent Digital Output/Relay Driver has a 30 msec Timer built in that allows an interrupt request to be handled and controls delays between channel operations. The typical time for a relay driver channel to complete an open or close cycle is 30 msec. The interrupt and channel delay functions use a common built-in 30 msec timer. The driver is managed by five different types of registers which control all level functions of the device on the card.
