Keysight/Agilent E1357A 8-Channel Strain FET Multiplexer
The Keysight E1357A is an 8-channel 120-ohm strain FET multiplexer designed for precision strain measurement. It supports quarter-bridge, half-bridge, and full-bridge configurations across 8 dedicated measurement channels. The quarter bridge measurements on the multiplexer support standard 8-channel operation and rosette configurations. The half bridge modes include bending half bridge and Poisson half bridge options available across all 8 channels. The full bridge measurement options cover bending full bridge, bending Poisson full bridge, and Poisson full bridge types.
Each channel on the Keysight FET multiplexer supports a maximum of 120 V DC or AC RMS and 170 V peak. The maximum current per channel is 50 mA non-inductive, and the maximum power per channel is rated at 1 VA. The thermal offset per channel remains below 4 μV measured differentially from the high to low terminal path. The closed channel resistance is specified at 100 Ω ± 10%, which corresponds to the value of the integrated protection resistor. The relay life on the model is 10? operations at no load and 10? operations at rated load. The insulation resistance between any two points on the multiplexer exceeds 10? Ω at 40°C and 65% humidity. The closed channel capacitance at 10 kHz is below 150 pF for high to low and low to guard.
The Strain FET Multiplexer additionally supports guarded DCV voltage and 2-wire resistance measurements on all 8 channels. These voltage and resistance measurements can operate simultaneously with strain measurements on adjacent channels. The diagnostic capabilities include lead wire resistance measurement on channels 0 and 1 as well as internal half-bridge voltage. The diagnostics also cover guard voltage and bridge excitation voltage.
The E1357A multiplexer consumes 1 watt per slot during normal operation. The cooling requirements are rated at 0.02 mm H?O at a flow rate of 0.10 liters per second. The model operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 55°C with storage rated from –40°C to +75°C. The humidity tolerance is specified at up to 65% relative humidity within the 0°C to 40°C operating range.
