Keysight/Agilent E9851A VXI Pentium PC Controller
The Keysight E9851A is a 2-slot message-based VXI embedded PC controller running Windows NT 4.0. The controller is powered by an Intel Pentium III processor with a clock speed of 700 MHz. The unit occupies two VXI slots and measures 233.4 mm high by 340 mm deep at 2.5 kg. The model incorporates a 2 MB 64-bit accelerated SGRAM paired with an SVGA port for video output. The Advanced Graphics Port supports multiple resolutions starting from 640 x 460 at 16 million colors. The higher resolutions including 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 1024 are supported at 64 K and 256 colors respectively. The maximum supported resolution is 1600 x 1200 at 256 colors for high resolution display applications.
The E9851A PC controller provides 128 MB of standard RAM expandable to 384 MB using SODIMMs in two sockets. The internal mass storage includes a 6 GB hard drive and a 3.5-inch 1.44 MB floppy disk drive. An internal expansion slot supports a full-length PCI card or a 16-bit XT-height ISA expansion card. The two front panel PCMCIA slots accept one Type I/II/III card and one Type I/II card simultaneously.
The E9851A PC Controller features a wide Ultra SCSI-3 port and a 10/100 BaseT Ethernet port as standard. An IEEE 488.2 compliant GPIB port provides direct instrument addressing and control within the VXI environment. The unit also includes two RS-232 serial ports and one IEEE-1284 parallel port for peripheral connectivity. The two USB ports are present on the controller but are not supported under Windows NT 4.0.
The Keysight E9851A VXI Pentium PC Controller operates within ambient temperatures of 0 to 50 °C and 10 % to 90 % relative humidity non-condensing. The storage conditions extend from -20 to +70°C with a humidity range of 5% to 95% non-condensing. The maximum operating altitude is 10,000 ft, with a non-operating ceiling reaching 40,000 ft. The operating vibration tolerance for the PC controller is rated at 0.3 g_rms across 5 to 500 Hz on three axes.
