The Anritsu BTS Master MT8222B Base Station Analyzer has an ACPR that measures the amount of the carrier that gets into neighboring RF channels. ACPR and multi-channel ACPR check the nearest (adjacent) and second nearest (substitute) RF channels for single and multicarrier signals. High ACPR will create an obstruction for neighboring carriers. This is also a sign of low signal quality and low capacity, which can lead to blocked calls.
This instrument offers a Spectral Emission Mask (SEM) as a way to check out-of-channel spurious emanations close to the carrier. These spurious emanations both demonstrate contortion in the signal and can create obstruction with carriers in the adjoining channels.
