Anritsu MS4647A Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)
The Anritsu MS4647A is a high-performance Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) for accurately characterizing RF and microwave components. It operates from 10 MHz to 70 GHz, with an optional 70 kHz Coverage Extension. This VNA integrates a built-in source, test set, and analyzer all on a single platform. It features extended time-domain processing, with 100,000 data points available for high-resolution measurement, and dynamic range and measurement speed tailored to demanding applications. Its modular architecture allows for upgrades to extend frequency ranges above 110 GHz, expand from two-port to multi-port configurations, and increase linear to nonlinear measurement capability.
The MS4647A provides S-parameter measurement, user-specified combinations of wave quantities, and frequency, power, and time (distance) domains. It performs linear, CW, or segmented frequency sweeps and linear/log power sweeps with graphical display capabilities of Smith Charts, group delay, and SWR. It has 16 channels that provide 16 traces with an unlimited color count and allow trace math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) for comparison. Accuracy is obtained by applying calibration techniques of SOLT, LRL/LRM, and AutoCal, and the fixture effects are eliminated using de-embedding tools or simulated embedded networks. Dispersion correction and reference impedances (other than 50 Ω) are more flexible options for waveguide, microstrip, or coaxial conditions.
With a 10.4" color touch screen, the MS4647A VNA provides real-time data visualization and remote control using GPIB, LAN, or USB. Universal test ports, Direct Access Loops (optional), and external instrument, power meter, and analog I/O interfaces are included on front and rear panel interfaces. Time Domain Measurements (Option 002), Receiver Offset (Option 007), and Active Measurements Suite (Option 06x) enable mixer testing, harmonic analysis, and gain compression measurements. A Windows XP platform with Pentium 4 CPU, 30 GB hard drive, and certified antivirus compatibility is used by the system.
