EXFO FTBx-945 Fiber Certifier OLTS
The EXFO FTBx-945 Fiber Certifier OLTS is the datacom and data center enterprise cables verification Tier-1 tester. Supporting the FTB-1v2/FTB-1 Pro, FTB-2/FTB-2 Pro, and the FTB-4 Pro modular platforms, the tester is coupled with the OTDR/iOLM modules from EXFO for combined Tier-1 and Tier-2 test capability. Testing for two fibers at two wavelengths is possible only by using only FasTesT™ for only three seconds, including automated bidirectional loss, length, and optionally, the optical return loss (ORL). Built-in capability for Encircled Flux allows for the test for multimode accuracy to the specifications of ANSI/TIA and ISO/IEC, eliminating the need for mode conditioners.
The FTBx-945 features 100% automated fiber inspection by one-pass pass/fail analysis at each end using the FIP-400B or FIP-500 inspection probes from EXFO. An operating environment like windows has onboard diagnostics for the cause of failures (i.e., macrobends or test-cord faults) and features corrective advice. Synchronized operation is supported by dual complete sets (with the secondary FTBx-945 or the MaxTester 945 portable set) through real-time verification of continuity and text communication by the technicians. LED indicators for the ports and audio signals assist the connection of the fibers, and margin meters display the measurement against the set limits.
Certification covers not only the application standard (i.e., IEEE, Fibre Channel) and the standard for cables (i.e., physical fiber quality) together, but also conformity to multi-standards. Onboard PDF reporting produces professional pass/fail summary reports, anomalies, and test-cord references, complementing FastReporter batch handling and enhanced analysis software. Singlemode is supported up through 200 km and multimode through 20 km, with ±0.5 m uncertainty. Integrated reference-grade test cables, color coded for error-free handling, provide EF-compliant measurements from added-conditioning-free inputs. Data handling is permitted by EXFO Connect over the cloud, while the Windows 10 OS for the FTB platform provides third-party support for applications, multi-window capability, and support for peripherals. Features range from -75 dBm to 5 dBm for the power meter, wavelength from 850 nm to 1650 nm, and laser safety certification. Operating from -0°C to 50°C temperature range, the portable, 0.4 kg unit increases field efficiency through the use of WiFi, Bluetooth, and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity.
