The EXFO MAX-730C PON/metro OTDR is a compact, durable fiber optic test solution for high-performance FTTH and metro network rollout. Its 7-inch outdoor-hardened touchscreen offers an easy-to-use, Windows-like operating environment with which technologists may quickly configure tests and observe results. Its tablet form factor with solid rubber housing offers tough functionality for use in hostile outside plant environments with hassle-free field operation.
The MAX-730C, which is intended for use with passive optical network setups, enables live fiber testing at 1625 nm or 1650 nm and supports high port density PON splitters of up to 1x128. Because of its sophisticated optical testing capabilities, in-service faultfinding may be done with little disruption to active network signals. With its integrated iOLM application, the MAX-730C offers dynamic multipulse captures and automatic trace analysis, simplifying advanced fiber characterization applications by automatically selecting the best test parameters and providing clear go/no-go findings.
With a 12-hour battery life, the equipment is made for extended field deployment. It offers a high dynamic range of 39 dB, enabling it to measure point-to-point metro links accurately over long distances. It is perfect for deployment in live networks due to its high precision, low dead zones, and quick acquisition rates. An in-line power meter, a visible defect locator, and a suite of software tools that enable remote control, data transfer, and report generating are examples of plug-and-play features. Post-processing is made easy by FastReporter software built into the instrument, which creates detailed PDF reports and automates documentation. Security features such as tamper-proof password protection also safeguard the instrument in operation.
