Keysight 8753ES Vector Network Analyzer
The Keysight 8753ES is an extremely versatile VNA capable of analyzing components over the range of 30 kHz to 3 GHz (or optionally up to 6 GHz). This tool provides a very broad level of detail in assessing how active and/or passive components will interact with other circuit components or external signals. The unique capability of this unit lies in its built-in S-parameter test set, allowing for complete forward and reverse S-parameter measurements using only one device connector, greatly reducing the time required for testing two-port networks. The computerized processor found at the heart of the 8753ES greatly increases the speed of measurement and data transfer, enabling rapid measurement and processing in industrial and research settings where time is critical.
Users of the Keysight 8753ES rely upon it due to its high degree of measurement versatility and its extremely high degree of measurement accuracy. Users can select either a 50-ohm or 75-ohm configuration, and as such, it is capable of being used in many different applications, including telecommunications and broadcast equipment. Measurement results may be displayed in several forms, including log-magnitude, phase, group delay, Smith Chart and SWR. The accuracy of these measurements is ensured through the use of extensive calibration techniques that enable accurate measurements to be made in both coaxial and non-coaxial environments, including test fixtures. The 8753ES is therefore an indispensable tool for the evaluation of filters, amplifiers, cables and antennas.
In addition to traditional network analysis techniques, the Vector Network Analyzer also has many specialized test modes available. These test modes allow the user to characterize mixers and converters using frequency offset and also sweep harmonic measurements to evaluate amplifier linearity and distortion. The unit is equipped with a built-in floppy disk drive and I/O ports such as GPIB, RS-232 and a parallel printer port, allowing users to easily save instrument state information and data and also connect to a variety of peripherals such as printers and plotters. The broad range of features and reliable operation of the Keysight 8753ES makes this unit a basic tool for engineers and technicians engaged in R&D, quality control in manufacturing, and automated test systems.
