Keysight/Agilent P5005A Streamline USB Vector Network Analyzer
The Keysight P5005A functions as a two-port Streamline USB Vector Network Analyzer designed for precision RF and microwave measurements up to 26.5 GHz. It operates entirely through USB connectivity and is monitored via an external computer by eliminating the need for a built-in display or dedicated front panel. The Keysight P5005A vector network analyzer is configured for rackmount deployment and suits both laboratory and production environments requiring compact high-frequency analysis. It comes with a frequency range of 100 kHz to 26.5 GHz for wide RF and microwave testing. Both ports of the unit feature 3.5 mm female connectors with a port impedance of 50 ohms. An MCX connector is also included as part of the port configuration.
The VNA also delivers a dynamic range of 137 dB by enabling accurate measurement of both high-power and deeply attenuated signals within a single setup. The noise floor is rated at -129 dBm, which supports detection of very low-level signals with high measurement confidence. The output power reaches a maximum of 8 dBm and is adjustable across a power sweep range of -50 dBm to +8 dBm. This 58 dB sweep range allows the instrument to perform power-dependent measurements such as gain compression and linearity testing. The harmonic distortion is specified at -17 dBc, which reflects the signal purity of the source output during standard operation. The P5005A VNA connects to a host computer via a USB 3.0 cable assembly included in the package. The unit is powered through an external AC-DC adapter with a compatible power cord included. It is designed to operate within a temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius. It does not require internal cooling mechanisms beyond passive thermal management within its enclosure.
The P5005A integrates with Keysight's PathWave Vector Network Analyzer software running on an external PC. The software control enables full configuration of sweep parameters, calibration routines, data logging, and port matching. The USB vector network analyzer supports integration into 19-inch standard racks common in automated test equipment setups. It is useful in multiple RF antennas by providing gain and power information as well.
